Place in the Woods Trading Post was started more than 30 years ago by the Kevit Family. In July 2007 it was purchased by John and Diane Kendall. Like many Americans they shared the dream of owning their own country store. John an avid outdoorsman and NH native was a frequent shopper of Place in the Woods. Diane was trying her hand at retail marketing by selling their home grown yarn and wool products at various festivals. They both saw the potential for Place in the Woods to be a first class stop for average working families as well as the many visitors to this beautiful section of NH. Together they have transformed this diamond in the rough to a sparkling gem of Monadnock Sunapee Region. The Kendalls live nearby at Over East Farm. The home is a classic example of an early american NH farm house. With their 3 children they raise a flock of sheep and various other farm animals.
